POWERFUL. LOVED. STRONG. BEAUTIFUL.
"Every woman, no matter how long she lives, will remember how she was made to feel at her birth."
Birth is transformative. It is a passage in to a new life and you experience new levels of strength and vulnerability, all at once. Every time I witness a baby enter this life and have the honor to watch a family be born, I am in awe.
Some people enter their doula journey because of their own births or personal experiences. I found myself entering it due to an unexplainable fascination with birth, and now find myself immersed in it because of the joy it brings. I love supporting my clients and all of their unique personalities, relationships, and birth visions. I love being part of the team that catches their breath as the baby takes its first. And I love being invited to walk alongside and support you as you journey through preparation, birth, and postpartum.
I am trained and certified as a Birth Doula through DONA, have completed education through Hearthside Perinatal Bereavement, and am Gena Kirby Rebozo Certified. I serve hospitals, birth centers, and home births (attended by a midwife) in a 60 mile radius from Enola, PA. If you are birthing further than that, please contact me to discuss possibilities!
I can't wait to meet you!
"I do not care what kind of birth you have...a home birth, scheduled cesarean, epidural hospital birth, or if you birth alone in the woods next to baby deer. I care that you had options, that you were supported in your choices, and that you were respected."
- January Harshe
Unwavering care and dedicated support as you prepare for and welcome your new baby!
This option includes one prenatal visit (additional available) where we discuss your birth and newborn preferences, education on selected topics, birth vision, and practice comfort techniques, all while providing a constant reassurance and calm presence. I am on-call from 38-42 weeks and provide continuous labor support until shortly after you welcome your baby. I also visit you at your home (or hospital) afterwards to make sure you are doing well and help process your birth experience!
The days and weeks after you welcome your new baby are full of learning, overwhelming happiness, and the blur of fatigue. I'm here to help you navigate the early days by providing a knowledgeable hand in whatever aspect you need.
I can help you set up a nursing station, take care of those tasks that have fallen to the side, assist in making meals, give you tips and information on important self care and recovery, and provide the time for you to get a shower and catch a nap!
Fee: $30/hr, 2 hour minimum
Because I am passionate about what I do and believe that all women deserve choices, I am committed to making a difference by extending that love into other parts of my community and the world. A full 5% of the fee of every birth I attend will go towards ending sex trafficking, providing women with sustaining trades, and providing safer birthing experiences and newborn care. When I share in your birth story, you become part of an even larger movement that impacts your sisters around the globe!
Not every baby is born to stay earth-side for very long, although they stay forever in the hearts of those who love them. I have completed specialized bereavement education to help prepare and support families as they walk this path, and assist them in connecting with other resources on their journey.
